The Kingdom of God — Present and Internal
The tradition treats the kingdom of God primarily as a future political arrangement — a literal earthly kingdom established at the second coming. Under Rule 1 the text consistently describes the kingdom of God as present, internal, and accessed through the Spirit.
> Luke 17:20-21 — And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Not observable from outside. Not in a geographic location. Not a future political arrangement. Within you. Present. Now. The Pharisees asked when it was coming. Jesus answered that it was already here — not outside where you could observe it, but inside where the Spirit operates.
The Kingdom Arrives When the Spirit Operates
> Matthew 12:28 — But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
The kingdom of God arrived in the specific moment that the Spirit was operating. When Jesus cast out demons by the Spirit of God, the kingdom was present in that moment for the people in that place. The kingdom is not a future event to wait for. It is a present reality to access. It comes when the Spirit comes. It is present where the Spirit is operating.
> John 3:3-5 — Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God\… Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Born of the Spirit is entering the kingdom. The entry point is the Spirit, not geography or chronology. The kingdom is entered through the new birth — through the Spirit operating within a person. The kingdom is inside the person in whom the Spirit dwells.
Power Comes When the Spirit Comes
> Acts 1:8 — But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.
The Spirit coming is the power coming. The kingdom coming is the Spirit coming. They are the same event described two different ways. The kingdom is not waiting to come in a future millennium. It came at Pentecost. It is present in every person in whom the Spirit dwells. The millennium is the future full expression of what is already a present reality in the Spirit-indwelt believer.
The Kingdom Provision for the 144,000
The 144,000 operate in the kingdom during the tribulation because the kingdom is within them — the Spirit sealed within them before the restrainer withdrew. Their provision, their testimony, their protection from the second death — all of it flows from the kingdom present within them. The beast system controls the physical infrastructure. It cannot control the kingdom within. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit.
