The Great White Throne — Seal 7
> Revelation 20:11-12 — Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.
The Great White Throne judgment is the final event before the new creation. The earth and sky flee away. The physical universe as it has existed through the six thousand years dissolves. The dead — small and great, every person from Adam to the end of the millennium — stand before God. The books are opened.
The Books Opened — Two Types
The Books of Deeds: the record of what actually happened across the six thousand years. Every nation. Every person. Every choice. Every consequence. The full experimental record of what sin produces when given its full expression across human history. These books have been accumulating since the beginning. They are the complete case record.
The Book of Life: written at the foundation of the world (Revelation 17:8), containing everything God foreknew across the six thousand years. Sealed with seven seals. The Lamb was the only one worthy to open it. The Book of Life is opened at this moment — the final legal confirmation of what was written before history began. The opening is the public presentation of God ‘s foreknowledge alongside the complete record of what actually happened.
The Final Comparison
The final comparison of the two books proves God knew what sin would produce. The Book of Life records who God foreknew would choose life. The Books of Deeds record what the full experiment of freedom actually produced. The comparison vindicates God ‘s character before the entire universe watching. He foreknew. He warned. He provided the redemption. He permitted the full expression. The case is presented. The verdict is delivered. Whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
