CHAPTER 7
The Two Witnesses
Jayden typed: Who are the two witnesses?
AI➤ Men or angels appearing as men. Operating for 1,260 days clothed in sackcloth.
Sackcloth — rough cloth worn as a sign of mourning or humility.
AI➤ Revelation does not specify whether they are human or angelic. The pattern of Genesis 18 is instructive — God and two angels appeared to Abraham in human form, yet their presence was recognisable as something beyond ordinary. The two witnesses carry a presence that is not of this world. Not the gentle figures tradition painted. Something older and more formidable. What they look like is less important than what they carry.
AI➤ They carry the authority of Elijah. Power to shut heaven that it rain not, power to turn waters to blood, to smite the earth with plagues. They delegate their authority to the 144,000 the same way Jesus delegated to the twelve. When they finish their testimony the beast from the earth, Satan, kills them. Their bodies lie in the street of the great city three and a half days. The people with the mark rejoice and send gifts. Then the Spirit of life from God enters them. They stand up. A voice from heaven — come up here. They ascend. A great earthquake follows. Seven thousand killed.
Jayden thought about what the two would look like. Standing in the street. Calling down rain, calling down fire. Declaring what was happening and why.
J➤ Not preachers. Prophets. Prophets that bring messages people do not want to hear.
J➤ People with the mark are going to hate them.
